Privacy Policy
Effective 7 October 2026
Nowyze is a fieldbook for shells you photograph or import on your own device. This policy describes what the app stores and what it does not send anywhere.
Where data lives
Shell notes, photos, die-cut stickers, finished PNG pages, and Sheet Credit records stay in the app's private storage on this device. Nowyze does not operate an account server, a social feed, or a cloud library. One-tap Continue creates a local session only. There is no password and no Sign in with Apple.
What you can store
You may save a shell name, family, collection date, beach name as text, tide, weather, companion, substrate, and a longer note. You may attach a photo and a sticker made from that photo. Generated pages are PNG files. Nowyze does not record GPS coordinates.
Permissions
- Camera is requested only after you tap Take Photo, to photograph a shell.
- Photo library reading is requested only after you tap Choose Photo, to import one shell picture.
- Photo library adding is requested only after you tap Save Image, to write a finished page into Photos.
- Microphone and speech recognition are requested only after you tap Speak Note, to dictate tide, weather, or companion text on the device. The transcript is written only after you confirm it.
Nowyze does not request tracking or push notifications.
Purchases
Sheet Credits are consumable in-app purchases processed by Apple. Apple charges your Apple ID. Credits are stored on this device and are not restored after you delete the app, delete the account, or clear all data. A credit is spent only after you confirm a page and the PNG file is saved. Refunds are handled by Apple. If Apple revokes a purchase, Nowyze removes only the unused part of that grant. Pages already saved stay on the device.
Log Out and Delete Account
Log Out ends the local session and leaves your shells on the device. Delete Account erases the local session together with shells, photos, pages, and remaining Sheet Credits on this device.
